Do You Abdicate Or Delegate?

Have you been in the same situation...

You have implemented a process and then walked away.

Six months later you come back to find out that the process is not being 'executed' in the right way, and consequently the results aren't what you expect.

I see this time and time again and there is a simple distinction to make.

If you walk away it is called 'abdication'.

If you stay, not necessarily in the middle of the action, but keep an eye on the process periodically to ensure it still works, that is called 'delegation'.

There is a big difference between the two!
