Do you embrace exception reporting?

If you are responsible for the running of a business process you will probably be required to regularly review certain reports that help you to manage the process.

Many people switch off when they have to do this on an ongoing basis.

They don't make the best decisions when the information isn't reviewed...

However, if you use exception reporting you can trim down the time required to perform this task.

If you are clear about what you need to take action on, and can modify your reports so that you just look at the bit you need to... well you can save yourself a lot of time and become more effective at the same time.

You might need to look at the full report once in a while, but this is a strategy worth thinking about if you haven't done so already.
